The company has been contracted with EDOE—the competent authority for vehicle recycling—since 2007. Since then, over 6,000 vehicles of all kinds, from tractors to trucks and private cars, have been sent for recycling, thus freeing the island of Lesvos (primarily) and Lemnos (to a lesser extent) from tons of hazardous waste.
However, for us, cars are not just waste, but rather a collection of valuable materials such as metals, batteries, tires, cables, engines, and more.
The vehicle recycling process begins with antipollution (removal of the battery, brake fluid, coolant, air conditioning refrigerant, oil, and oil filters), followed by dismantling and distribution of each component into the corresponding recycling stream. This is a process that demands great care at every step due to the hazardous nature of the materials involved.
One vehicle may require two workers for three hours to complete the process.
